About Our Staff
Our Teaching Staff
Marks of Excellence is dedicated to nurturing children as individuals and helping them learn to be loving, caring members in the classroom and the world around them. They strive to provide children with a developmentally appropriate, stimulating environment in which they can learn and grow to their fullest potential. Our teachers ensure that every child feels safe and welcome.
Our staff is comprised of fully qualified caregivers. Every teacher meets or exceeds the licensing requirements set forth by the State of New York.
Each room is staffed keeping in mind the ratios recommended by the Office of Children and Family Services. Our staff receive 30 hours of training every two years on various topics pertaining to Early Childhood. Child CPR, and First Aid and Child Abuse and Maltreatment are included in these training hours. Before they are hired, each person is screened for any complaints regarding Child Abuse or Sex Abuse and is fingerprinted as well. A TB test and a doctor’s note stating that the person is physically and mentally fit to work with children is also required.
Mrs. Marks has positioned herself as a family advocate to provide Full Family Service Resource Center. Through local government, county and state agencies, families can be advised and directed to services available based on their needs. Mrs. Marks is also a board member of the Child Care Council of Suffolk.
